The following rule changes will be applied in 1944 for the Allies.
More will follow later in 44.
US torpedoes dud-problem has been fixed.
- TBF have now an air-to-sea factor of 2 in stead of 1.
- Surface ships and submarine don’t suffer a penalty anymore.
Enhanced heavy AA with proximity fuze.
- Hit chance +1 in 43 and +2 in 44
Enhanced ASW with short-range radar
- 2 surprise points in 44 for the Allies when encountering a Sub
Fighter Direction
Operative carriers with air radar have a chance of vectoring CAP planes toward incoming enemy air units.
- 10% for the Japanese
- 10% for the US before 43, 30% in 43, 50% in 44.
- 30% for the Royal Navy before 43, 40% in 43, 50% in 44.
- -5% against a coordinated airstrike (torpedo + dive bombers)
- -20% gains an undetected airstrike
If 1D100 is less or equal than the CAP vectoring chance, then the CAP will fight two rounds of air combat BEFORE the bombers attack.
Otherwise, then the CAP will fight the second rounf of air combat AFTER the bombing.
